Cameron Jack, bioinformatician and Manager of ABC, was invited to speak at the 2016 Australasian Genomic Technologies Association conference in Auckland, New Zealand. His presentation, 'A flexible sequence analysis pipeline platform for non-bioinformaticians', covered the ABC's graphical pipeline platform as a customisable open-source data processing platform for discovering Single Nucleotide Variants and Short Tandem Repeats in Massively Parallel Sequencing Data. Unlike existing workflow tools, this platform provides a stable, production-ready graphical analysis suite that can be installed and customised by untrained users. It also integrates data processing and visualisation capabilities in a unique way that makes complex analytical pipelines readily accessible to previously non-catered-for communities.
This pipeline platform was commissioned by the National Centre for Forensic Studies at the University of Canberra.
